VISION STATEMENT*
While our mission remains constant, our vision of how to accomplish KirkWood’s mission is new for 2010. Through much prayer and discussion, the KirkWood Session developed what we believe is God’s vision for us. Our vision statement is:
“A Christian community, knowing, loving,
and serving Christ, to make him know to all”
The KirkWood community already strives in many ways to make this vision a reality, but we must never become complacent or satisfied with our service to God and being a disciple of Christ. This is a vision that all can embrace and find opportunities to grow in discipleship, show their love for both fellow Christians and our neighbors around the world, and serve and bring others to know Christ. Our journey begins with a call to action embodied in the theme for 2010 of “Worship + 2”. All are encouraged to increase their involvement in the life of KirkWood Presbyterian Church.

MISSION STATEMENT*
The mission of KirkWood Presbyterian Church is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ summarized in the Great Commandment – “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind...Love your neighbor as yourself”; and the Great Commission – “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”
Our mission, as faithful stewards, is to glorify God through Prayer and Worship; minister to the congregation and the community around us through Mission and Fellowship; learn God’s message for us through Christian Education; and to reach out, both personally and as a congregation, to bring others to know Christ through our Outreach programs.
